Eco-friendly mowing
with the Greenery maintenance head ECO 1200 plus
New mowing concepts are necessary to enable a more ecologically sustainable maintenance of roadside greenery. The aim is to mow as insect and plant saving as possible to preserve valuable biological resources. MULAG has developed a completely new working equipment with an innovative mowing concept for the use in professional road maintenance.
For the new development the relevant aspects of mowing method, cutting height and overrolled area have been systematically analysed in order to obtain a method which is as environmentally sensitive as possible. The new MULAG greenery maintenance head is based on a disc mowing principle, but cannot be compared with systems available on the market so far. It is also equipped with a mechanical sweeper device. By scaring up the insects in the grass in good time and picking up the mowed material by means of a targeted air flow and largely closed base, considerably fewer insects get into the mowing head. The contact surfaces of the cutting unit have been minimised by the innovative concept and an increased cutting height ensures ecologically more sensitive mowing. As a side effect, the collection of the mowed material creates meagre green areas, which form a very good basis for flowering vegetation.
The new MULAG mowing concept transforms the requirements for a more ecological road maintenance service into a practical and efficient process which makes a significant contribution to the insect and plant protective care of the roadside greenery.
