Presenting a new double cabin towing tractor with 400 V high voltage drive, a conversion kit for upgrading diesel towing tractors with electric drive and introducing smart services for fleet management and procurement MULAG shows the path into the future of airport ground handling at the GSE Expo Europe 2026 in Lisbon.

The Comet 4E-HV DK with double cabin design was developed as a versatile towing tractor for airport operations. With numerous options, plenty of space, and a powerful high-voltage electric drive, this model is ideal for professional use in ground support operations. It can transport up to five people. In addition, materials, tools or individual pieces of luggage can be carried on the integrated storage area, thereby efficiently supporting work processes in airport ground handling. The robust all-steel cab is reinforced by a special welded construction, ensuring high structural strength and safety during daily use. The vehicle is designed for professional, continuous use in ground support operations and supports both transportation and service tasks on the airport apron.

With the Comet 4 conversion kit, an existing diesel vehicle can be easily converted into an electric vehicle. The existing diesel engine and transmission are replaced with a customized conversion kit featuring Li-ion batteries, and a new drive axle with an electric motor is installed. This retrofit allows the vehicle to be put back into service for another life cycle, and a large portion of the existing vehicle parts can be reused. This circular economy approach minimizes the environmental footprint and significantly reduces the vehicle’s TCO over two life cycles.

Introducing BEZON as a service means that “Availabilty starts with transparency”. BEZON supports manufacturers, distributors and operating companies with digital applications that streamline processes across the entire product life cycle. Every machine provides valuable information and BEZON analyzes operational and product data and uses it for develop recommendations for operating companies and fleet managers. Thus it is increasing availability, provide informed decisions and supports an efficient product life cycle.
