New MULAG FBX boom system at IFAT 2026
On May 4, 2026, the new FBX front-combination was finally unveiled as a prototype.
At the IFAT 2026 trade show in Munich, MULAG unveiled its innovative FBX front attachment combination for road maintenance services. This new development helps users perform their daily roadside tasks even more effectively.
The goal of this new development is to further simplify work processes, increase flexibility in operation, and provide users with lasting relief. With the new FBX product, MULAG is expanding its portfolio in the attachments division with another high-performance solution for professional users.
The FBX boom system offers high maneuverability, a large clearance height, a wide boom geometry, and a reach of over 8 meters. Boom positions are available for every mower head position to clear or bypass obstacles. Large swivel angles allow for flexible positioning of the work tool.
The FBX can be transported in a compact configuration, either folded down at the front or stowed above the roof of the carrier vehicle. Both transport positions allow for the use of different implements and flexible adaptation to various carrier vehicles. The high ground clearance and gantry width result from the overhead arrangement of the articulation cylinders, which also protects against damage from obstacles.
The FBX’s hydraulic system is equipped with an innovative return-line filtration system featuring improved oil degassing, which prevents cavitation. A reduced hydraulic oil volume lowers maintenance requirements. All control movements are monitored by integrated sensors, enabling optimized assistance systems.
“Overall, the innovative features of the FBX boom system allow for highly flexible applications. From the very beginning, the new development focused on user requirements,” explains Managing Director Holger Wössner. “With our new FBX, road maintenance operations will become significantly more efficient and cost-effective.”
MULAG presented its new product as a prototype for the first time at the IFAT 2026 trade fair in Munich from May 4 to 7, 2026. This provided a preview of the new boom concept, which will be extensively tested and optimized in practice until it is ready for series production. Visitors already had the opportunity to examine the new FBX boom system in detail and learn about its technical advantages in a personal discussion with MULAG specialists.
