Faulty operation of airport ground support vehicles has particularly serious consequences: Every year, high costs are incurred for delays and repairs caused by damage to an aircraft body during baggage handling. Now, these problems can be avoided with the new MULAG anti collision assistant ACA.

The sensors at the front end of the conveyor belt recognizes obstacles (such as the aircraft body). The system automatically reduces the travelling speed during the approach to the aircraft and stops the traction drive immediately before the point of collision. This helps to prevent damage when positioning the conveyor belt at the aircraft.
